Deven Massarone

At the age of two, Deven Massarone picked up a pair of sticks and never looked back. Since then, Massarone evolved into a multi-instrument musician and composer, playing the piano, guitar, bass, saxophone, trumpet and cello. Deven has seven years of formal jazz training, but also has an advanced repertoire ranging from rock, hip-hop, classical, reggae, funk and metal.

His playing style is diverse – Deven has participated in bands of all styles since he began playing with bands in 2001, at the age of 13. His first full-length album was recorded with pop-punk band Half Way There in 2004. From 2006 until 2008 Deven played with the Western Massachusetts reggae band WBR, which opened for acts such as Bob Marley’s The Wailers, Badfish, Morgan Heritage, Catch-22 and Steel Pulse. From 2009 to 2011 Massrone played for the Western MA band 23 Enigma which opened for acts such as Smile Empty Soul and RA.

Currently Deven is hitting the road and touring the country with northern Vermont's funky rock and roll band The Gang of Thieves. The Gang has already been awarded "Best Band in State" (Vermont/2011) by the New England Music Awards. The group has recently released a brand new EP titled “Riddle” that was recorded in Oakland, CA  which they plan to take across the country. Massarone looks forward to bringing his talents to the table with The Gang of Thieves and taking the country by storm!!

“From the first time I sat down behind a Noble and Cooley kit I knew there was something special about these drums. After seeing the unsurpassable and flawless amount of detail that is put into the crafting of these drums, I was blown away. Noble and Cooley drums sound perfect in any setting stage or studio. I have absolutely no desire to ever play any other kit because these drums are perfection.”   Deven Massarone
