Jon Jones has played for everything from orchestral timpani, to jazz bands, as well as several rock and garage bands. By the time he graduated Fitchburg State in 2004, he had been exposed to and drummed for nearly every form of music on the airwaves today, as well as 8+ years of formal instruction. Of all that experience and schooling, metal music was to be his true calling.
Since their spawning in the late 1990's, ZODIAK has risen to be an underground force to be reckoned with. Growing from local basements and bars to concert halls and venues throughout New England, Jon has kept the heart of this growing metal monster beating strong. Drawing influences from the likes of Racci Shay and Mike Cox, to Fredrik Andersson and Tomas Haake- Jon's varying techniques have helped to shape ZODIAK's unique sound. Currently ZODIAK is gearing up to head back into the studio to track their second album.
In the fall of 2004, Jon began lending his influence to up and coming rockers- Vining Hill, and has been drumming for them as well as ZODIAK ever since.
"From sticks, to heads; band members to influences- everything surrounding my drumming has maintained a constant state of evolution and improvement. In 16 years, the only thing that has remained a constant factor has been Noble & Cooley Drums. When you know you are playing the best, there's no reason to look anywhere else." -Jon Jones
