Bill Kreutzmann began playing drums at the age of 13, despite the fact that his sixth grade music teacher told him he couldn't keep a beat. By age 19 he was the drummer for the legendary rock band the Grateful Dead, and never missed a gig in their 3,500 show career spanning from 1965 - 1995.
In 2006, Bill teamed up with his former bandmate Mickey Hart, former Phish bassist Mike Gordon and lead guitarist Steve Kimock to launch a band called the Rhythm Devils. The group featured songs from all of its members previous bands as well as new songs written by Jerry Garcia's longtime songwriting companion Robert Hunter.
Currently, Bill is playing alongside Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers, and Scott Murawski of Max Creek. The trio will be touring heavily this coming summer.
